GetOutdoorsKansas is a custom app that allows users to explore trails in the state of Kansas. Created by the Kansas Wildscape Foundation and the Kansas Trails Council, this app provides statewide trail information without any in-app purchases or subscriptions.

Unlike many other commercial trail apps, GetOutdoorsKansas allows users to find trails in federal, state, county, and city parks. With GPS capability, users can track their progress on interactive trails. The app also auto-caches trail maps for offline exploration.

Using GetOutdoorsKansas is simple and user-friendly. With just one touch, users can see the distance of a trail from their location, the length of the trail, and its permitted use. Trails can be filtered based on hiking, biking, equestrian, motorized, and water recreational use. Users can also search for trails based on surface type or keywords.

The app provides directions to all trailheads and offers current trail information that is actively monitored and updated by the GetOutdoorsKansas trail team. With its custom 2-stage WKT parser, this app offers instant trail rendering. The innovative card UI detail views further enhance the user experience.
